On Thursday night, February 20th, the boy’s basketball team played Columbia High School at home. They won with a huge margin of thirty-five with Jake Perry scoring 31 points and Connor Trumpy and Cameron Ochs both scoring twenty-one points. The boys will play at the Giant Center against Trinity on Monday, February 24th, in hopes of claiming the District Championship.
Friday night also made history with the first ever faculty basketball game supporting Camp Hill Mini-THON. Ten Camp Hill teachers faced off against the faculty of East Penn in a heated game. Camp Hill was leading for most of the game, however, East Penn was able to make a slight comeback and take the crown by just a few points. Regardless of the score, lots of money and awareness for pediatric cancer was raised! Thank you to the teachers who participated and thank you to all of the students who came out and watched!
Saturday was also an eventful and historical day for the wrestling team! Six wrestlers competed at Districts and five of them claimed medals. Sean Getty (170) and Max Delaye (170) both claimed first place in their respective weight classes. This is the first time Camp Hill has had a District Champion since 2013 (with Quinn Frassetta) and the first time in thirty-two years to have two champs. In addition, Chirstian Doi placed second, Ben Mullin claimed fifth, and Paul Parise battled for sixth. This is also the highest the wrestling team has ever placed at the District level. All five athletes will compete at the Regional Competition from February 28th-February 29th.
