The past weekend was a weekend full of athletic accomplishments and triumphs. First of all, three wrestlers from Camp Hill claimed gold medals at the District III sectional competition at Central Dauphin East High School. Sean Getty (170), Paul Parise (195), and Max Delaye (160) were the three claimed stood on top. The last time Camp Hill had 3 champions was in 1987. Among them, were also Ben Mullin (172), Parker Rice (152) and Christian Doi (120) who did well. Christian placed 2nd, Ben claimed 3rd, and Parker held on to 5th. All of these wrestlers will compete on February 22nd at the District contest.
In addition to wrestling, the boys basketball team has a successful first playoff game. The team defeated Hanover 83-34 and will advance to the District 3 3A Semifinals. Connor Trumpy led the Lions who scored a game high 30 points. Jake Perry added 25 points and Cameron Ochs also reached double digits with 10 points.
Outside of the school, Brody Myers claimed 2nd place at the PTFCA Indoor Track Carnival for pole vault. During this meet, Brody also tied the school record (fourteen feet and six inches), which was held by Ben Shank from 2012. It was also announced that Julia Raich qualified for the U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program 2002/2003 girls national team. She will travel to Paris on April 4th – 12th to compete.
Finally, PennLive released an article stating that Camp Hill is currently in the lead for the PennLive Cup. Camp Hill leads the scoreboard with 16.25 points, but is trailed closely by Palmyra with 12 points. The last time Camp Hill received this award was in 2017-2018.
